Sigga Sigurdardottir is a digital change agent operating at Executive Committee and Board level, driving innovation led transformation across Santander UK, an institution with over 150 years of banking experience, 14 million active customers, 20,000 employees and over 800 branches. Prior to joining Santander UK, she spent 14 years at American Express in digital and change roles around the world including Australia, Singapore, UK and the US.
Sigga is responsible for designing a customer centric bank of the future through rapid prototyping of new mobile first business models. She leads the digital re-invention roadmap putting the customer at the centre, partnering with the start-up, digital and Fintech community and building an agile innovation environment within the bank. She has a strong track record for driving a start-up culture, working in an agile marketing and technology environment promoting continuous innovation and change.
Sigga, who was recognised for her excellence in transformational leadership at the Digital Masters Awards earlier this year, is an active advocate and spokesperson for innovation in the financial services industry. She sits on a number of industry bodies to influence change including the CityUK Fintech Delivery Panel, the Financial Services Trade and Investment Board Senior Steering Committee and the CBI Innovation Council. Furthermore she is a passionate champion for diversity and inclusion to drive innovation and sits on the Diversity and Inclusion Forum for Santander UK, is the executive sponsor for the Ethnicity@Work diversity chapter for Santander UK and sits on the Business in the Community Race Equality Board.
Sigga holds an MBA from IESE Business School and is completing a Doctorate from Manchester Business School on Leadership and Innovation.
